This '63 type' novelty basket loose powder compact has a graceful handle. The whole piece is decorated with engine turned engravings. The main body of the basket has engraving which resembles the basket weave design. The lid has a circular cartouche which the makers named the initial medallion, as it would often be engraved with the recipients initial s. The carry handle is also engraved with a pattern that
